Easy to register, decent class

Signed up for a one-time trial class. Website was clear. Instructor was helpful. My piece turned out okay. Pick up was quick.

Loved the date night!

We went for a pottery date night and it was so much fun! The instructor was super friendly and made it really easy for total beginners like us. We actually made a couple of decent bowls! I can't wait to pick them up. My partner and I had such a blast. We're already talking about doing a full beginner course. You should definitely try this!

Good private lesson

I booked a private pottery lesson with them last month. The online registration process was straightforward, I found an open slot easily. The instructor was knowledgeable and patient, really helped me improve my technique on the wheel. Delivery isn't really a thing for classes, but picking up my fired pieces was easy enough, they email you when they're ready. The studio was clean and well-equipped. Overall, a solid experience for someone wanting focused instruction.

Always a good experience

I've taken a few classes at Mugi Pottery now, including the beginner pottery class and an intermediate ceramics workshop. This last time I did the advanced wheel throwing. It's consistently good. Registration was smooth like before, and the instructors are still really helpful. Picked up my pieces last week, no issues. That's why I keep coming back.

Thinking of signing up for the 10-week course. Does Mugi do student discounts at all? Trying to save a few bucks.

Yeah I think I saw something about that on their site. It's not a huge discount from what I remember, but every bit helps, right?

My friend got one last year! You probably just need to show your student ID when you register or something similar. Worth checking with them directly to be sure, but it is a thing.

I'm coming from out of town for a weekend, trying to figure out which place to book. How does Mugi compare to say, La Mano or BKLYN Clay?

D Dan Vargas 3 months ago
Mugi is pretty good, more focused on structured classes if that's what you're looking for. I've heard La Mano is a bit more chill, maybe less intensive instruction? Just depends on your vibe.

I've only been to Mugi but I liked it. Friends who've tried BKLYN Clay said it felt a bit more commercial, if that makes sense. Mugi felt a bit more personal, like a smaller studio.
